New Gate

At long last we used the hire of a mini-ex to fit the new gates…

Still some railing to do.

More fruit

And while we about it,  a few new fruit bushes, blackcurrant, redcurrant, gooseberry.

Very rocky under the grass so good think we hired some help…

New Trees

After clearing the bramble last year we have land to spare, time to plant some trees and a small orchard.

It will be a couple of years till these produce any fruit.

On the map!

How long does it take to name a road?  Well 10 months in South Glos.  At last our road has a name, Yate Court Lane.
Hopefully coming to a mapping app near you in the next decade!

Spring in December

And first snow drops, but no snow.  Not even a frost…

The Ruin at Xmas

Raining and blowing at the moment and the moat around the ruin is filling up…

image

A few pics on the inside..
Walking in, watch not to trip into the sheep dip the old farmer built here!

image

The only fireplace still existing…  You can look up the chimney but look out for the jackdaws droping something down onto you!  This area was full of trees when we moved in 1 year ago..

image

On the north wall is an entrace, not the hole you see below, its the smallet opening filled up just to the left…

image

We have been trying to kill the ivy, but not much sucess so far…

The Well

The old well still exists outside.  Looks like it had a winder in olden days.  More recently various iron pipes links to the Farmhouse and the old laundry.
